Skill Bridge Program OverviewGlobal Medical Response (GMR) is an authorized provider of the Department of Defense (DoD) Skill Bridge program, offering U.S. Military Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training, internships and on-the-job (OJT) experience.
Under the Skill Bridge program, GMR hosts active‑duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active‑duty obligated service. The program runs for up to 180 days. During the Skill Bridge program, a military service member will retain their military pay and benefits and will not be compensated by GMR.

- Available to participate for 180 days
- Obtain signed approval from your unit commander (rank 04 or above) and acknowledge that participation can be terminated at any time by the Service if mission requirements dictate
- 24‑hour base housing provided at select locations (for Field Mechanics)
- Starting Salary: $65,239 – $94,567 (additional Geo Modifier as applicable)
- IA Stipend: $2,080
- Sign‑On Bonus: $12,500

M‑F or 4/10
This role is responsible for the overall maintenance and safety of our fleet of aircraft. It ensures a safe, efficient, and high‑quality transportation service.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance services including mechanical inspections, screening, repairs, and provide regular status updates to the Lead Technician.
- Manage inventory checks to ensure an adequate stock of supplies and equipment, regularly update the equipment tracking log, place replacement requests when necessary, and document part expenditures.
- Clearly document service paperwork and FAA information as required; adhere to policies and procedures while complying with the company’s information security standards.
- Sustain a safe and clean working environment for the aircraft maintenance team and flight crew.
- Use appropriate communication methods to facilitate coordination of efforts between departments, vendors, and team members.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with all allied health and public safety personnel, fellow AMTs, and operations team.
Required Qualifications
- Current FAA Airframe Mechanic certificate (or verified work history that meets minimum requirements to obtain written approval for Airframe testing from the FAA within 6 months of hire)
- Current FAA Repairman’s certificate (or verified work history that meets minimum requirements to obtain certificate within 6 months of hire)
- Five (5) years of field maintenance experience maintaining avionics systems in modern complex Fixed Wing and/or Rotorcraft operated under an air carrier (14 CFR Part 135) certificate.
- FAA Inspection Authorization Certificate
- Related experience under 14 CFR Part 135
- Autopilot maintenance experience
- Avionics and electrical repair experience
