Equipment Operator - Horizontal Directional Drilling & Excavation

We are seeking an experienced equipment operators to safely and efficiently operate construction equipment on job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a strong focus on safety, and experience working in site utility construction environments.

• Operate equipment such as excavators, mini excavators, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment, skid steers, and packers.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
• Assist with site utility installation, including water and sewer systems
• Work safely around underground utilities and interpret utility locates
• Follow project plans, grade stakes, and supervisor instructions
• Load, move, and place materials as required
• Communicate effectively with ground crews, foremen, and supervisors
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
• Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating construction equipment
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and utility layouts
• Understanding of underground utility installation
• Strong knowledge of job site safety procedures
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment issues
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Physically capable of performing job duties

• Site utility experience preferred
• Experience with utility, fiber, gas, sewer, and/or water installations
• CDL (preferred but not required)
• OSHA 10/30 certification

• Heavy equipment operation: 2 years (Required)
• Construction: 2 years (Required)

• CDL A (Preferred)
• Driver's License (Required)

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
