Description

Ember Hope Connections, a leading, faith-based provider of child welfare services, is committed to a positive work environment built on effective teamwork and trauma-informed practices. The Visitation Support Worker is a pivotal and highly specialized role within our Permanency Services Department. This position moves beyond passive observation; it is a critical clinical and evidentiary function. The Monitor is responsible for the direct supervision and active facilitation of parent-child visits, providing crucial on-the-spot redirection and positive interventions to build essential parenting skills.

Furthermore, the meticulous documentation and objective reporting generated by this role serve as critical legal evidence, requiring the Monitor to be prepared to testify in court regarding their witnessed events and detailed logs. This role is central to ensuring child safety while actively supporting family reunification and permanency goals, embodying our mission, vision, and values .

To be a successful you must be able to do the following always:

  • Supervise, Facilitate , and Coach Visits:
    Coordinate and supervise client visits with families on-site at the 1140 E 47th Street location, ensuring all visits adhere to safety protocols and therapeutic goals. This includes actively redirecting parents and providing positive interventions to support skill development and implement tasks identified on case plans to help families.
  • Ensure a trauma-informed focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for staff and those served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and a focus on resilience and recovery.
  • Complete 100% of direct services documentation w hile visit is occurring and ensure all notes are completed and submitted by the close of the business day .
  • Maintain records with the precision required for potential legal evidence, clearly and objectively noting all interactions, observations, and skill-building interventions during the supervised visit.
  • Be prepared and able to appear in court proceedings to testify truthfully and objectively regarding visitation logs and witnessed events, effectively serving as an extension of the court's observation.
  • Collaborate with the Permanency Specialist and the Permanency Services Team, internal, and external stakeholders as needed, demonstrating clear communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Adherence to Policy:
    Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.

How you will spend your time in this job:

  • 75% - Visitation monitoring and coaching
  • 20% - Documentation/Reporting
  • 5% - Partnership

Staffing/Shift Structure

The Visitation Monitor role will be filled across two primary shifts to ensure consistent coverage:

Shift 1: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Shift 2: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday .

Requirements

To qualify for this job, you need to have :

  • High School Diploma or GED required . Bachelor’s degree in social worker or related field preferred.
  • Work Experience
    - Prior experience working in Child Welfare, Human Services, or related field .
  • 21 years of age. Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and physical and drug screening.
  • Maintain company-required training.
  • Physical working requirements
    - Ability to travel, driving company or personal vehicle including lity to do occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Ability to pass SCM training. Able to walk stairs . Ability to work flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends . Employees are subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently , with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.
