To

be a successful Relative Support Worker you must be able to do the following always:
  • Ensure a trauma informed focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for families served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect and a focus on resilience and recovery.
  • Provide support for, advocacy for and supervision of non-licensed relative and Non-Related Kin (NRKIN) homes.
  • Serve as a liaison between the family and community when organizing and accessing community services and information for kinship families according to their unique needs.
  • Maintain timely documentation in company electronic health record according to Kinship expectations. Complete required assessments and plans required for the home.
  • Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.
  • Back up on-call to the on-call department.

  • 50% Kinship/NRKIN Advocacy, Supervision and Support
  • 35% Documentation
  • 10% Training
  • 5% Supervision and Meetings
Requirements

To qualify for this job, you need to have :

  • Bachelor's degree in social services or related field preferred .
  • Licensure by the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board preferred.
  • Two years of prior experience in child welfare.
  • 21 years of age. Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and physical and drug screening.
  • Maintain company-required training.
  • Ability to travel, driving agency or personal vehicle including at night .
  • Ability to do the occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Able to walk upstairs . Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends . The employee is subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently , with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.
