Location: Admin Office:
Wichita, KS

Type: Full-Time | In-Person | Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m.
Rate of Pay: $20-$23/hour
The Intake Coordinator’s responsibilities would include:
- Receiving and filtering all calls that come in to SSVF.
- Determining eligibility for services.
- Completing all intakes.
- Complete the Homeless Prevention Screener and determine eligibility.
- Complete Homeless Prevention intake if eligible.
- Work with landlords to obtain required documentation (lease copies, W9 forms).
- Enter veteran information into our computer systems.
- Submit initial payments to maintain housing.
- Transition the case to an SSVF case manager for ongoing services.
- Determine eligibility, schedule, and complete intake.
- If the household requires Emergency Housing Assistance upon intake, arrange hotel placement and provide basic needs, or assist with shelter placement if appropriate.
- Enter veteran information into our computer systems.
- Transition the case to an SSVF case manager for continued support.
- Managing short-lived cases for one-time assistance veterans, such as VASH veterans receiving only financial assistance.
- Assisting with data systems to ensure HMIS entries are accurate, compliant, and of high quality.
- Supporting monthly outreach events in the community.
- Ensuring files are compliant and assisting with exited files to make sure they are complete before the SSVF Director signs off on official exits.
- Possess strong interpersonal abilities, including effective communication and de-escalation skills.
- Collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and veteran service organizations to enhance resources for clients as needed.
- Demonstrate organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client intake files, ensuring compliance with program guidelines and grant reporting requirements.
- Enter program demographic and service data into the agency's electronic database system and federal homeless database system (HMIS).
- Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of two years of professional experience in human services, demonstrating effective support and success in working with low-income, socioeconomically vulnerable individuals, including military veterans.
- Knowledge of housing resources, government assistance programs, and community support services is required.
- Demonstrates competency in use of personal computer via mouse and keyboard, familiarity with Windows and Microsoft products.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services. Preference to applicants possessing degree in social work, public health, sociology or psychology OR Minimum 2 years of previous experience in case management, preferably in the field of homelessness.
- Class C driver’s license, personal motor vehicle, and personal motor vehicle insurance required.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of two years of professional experience in human services, demonstrating effective support and success in working with low-income, socioeconomically vulnerable individuals, including military veterans.
- Knowledge of housing resources, government assistance programs, and community support services is required.
