Software Development Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Development Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at Viavi Solutions, LLC. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of cutting‑edge software solutions for our industry‑leading products.

• Design, develop, test, and debug software applications and systems according to specifications.
• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product management, QA, and other engineering disciplines, to ensure successful product delivery.
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented, and maintainable code.
• Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
• Contribute to the improvement of development processes and tools.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in at least one object‑oriented programming language (e.g., C++, Python).
• Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Familiarity with Git.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing project requirements.
