SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Aircraft Detailer Lead DOT is responsible for leading and coordinating teams of detailers in the cleaning and maintenance of aircraft exteriors and interiors. This role requires training and supervising staff to ensure all detailing work is completed to high standards and in compliance with safety regulations and DOT requirements. The Aircraft Detailer Lead DOT manages supplies and equipment, conducts quality inspections, provides feedback, and liaises with airline and airport personnel to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and oversee the aircraft detailing team
- Coordinate and assign detailing tasks to team members
- Train and mentor new and existing staff in aircraft detailing techniques and standards
- Ensure adherence to all safety, quality, environmental, and DOT standards during detailing processes
- Monitor workflow to meet airline schedules and operational deadlines
- Inspect aircraft after detailing to ensure compliance with company and airline standards
- Provide guidance on the use of cleaning products, chemicals, and specialized equipment
- Resolve issues or challenges that arise during the detailing process
- Maintain accurate records of detailing work completed and team performance
- Liaise with maintenance and operations teams for scheduling and aircraft access
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and service quality
- Order and manage inventory of detailing supplies and equipment
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all cleaning activities
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, performance, and operational goals
- Prepare and deliver performance evaluations for team members
- Follow all DOT regulations and applicable aviation compliance standards
- Exemplify Prime Flight customer service and safety standards
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- 1 year of aviation cleaning experience
- Knowledge of the aviation industry
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including use of electronic devices such as iPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
- Ability to communicate effectively both in-person and electronically
- Ability to pass a DOT background check and drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
- Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation
