  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report mechanical, safety, or equipment concerns.
  • Maintain student safety and orderly conduct while loading, in transit, and unloading, and follow school expectations for student supervision on trips.
  • Follow assigned itineraries, pickup and drop-off locations, and timing; communicate delays or route changes to the Transportation department contact.
  • Comply with all applicable Federal and Kansas CDL, school-bus, traffic, and student-transportation requirements, including Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsement rules.
  • Fuel, clean, and secure the assigned vehicle after each trip as directed.
  • Participate in safety meetings and remain available for drug and alcohol testing and background-check processes.
  • Coordinate with Facilities and with Athletics or the student-event sponsor on trip timing, vehicle assignment, and any student support needs.
  • Remain with the assigned trip, including wait time at venues, when return transportation is part of the duty.

Wichita Collegiate School campus; driving occurs on public roads in varying weather. Physical
demands include climbing bus steps, sitting for extended periods, and assisting with safe
student loading and unloading.

  • Summer work may be required for camps, summer programs, or other school-sponsored trips.

  • Trip assignments may include wait time at venues when return transportation is part of the duty.
