Purpose
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing the warehouse operations of each retail store. The role also supervises warehouse specialists, order pickers, and forklift operators, and supports the Receiving Supervisor in managing the daily freight schedule based on customer and inventory needs.
Responsibilities- Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning for shipping and receiving.
- Direct day‑to‑day activities such as shipping, receiving, maintenance, and inventory control.
- Handle warehouse tasks related to storage, buy transactions, receiving errors, and product staging.
- Maintain warehouse equipment, providing preventive maintenance programs and communicating necessary repairs.
- Ensure safe, efficient equipment and a safe and clean workplace in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Train employees on standard operating procedures.
- Manage progressive disciplinary processes, including counseling and written warnings.
- Handle general employee inquiries and resolve issues.
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate efficient warehouse operations.
- Complete necessary activity reports for management.
- Monitor paperwork flow from Receiving to Inventory Control for timely data entry.
- Resolve discrepancies with shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
- Execute the Storage Buy Audit COP and ensure products are staged for counting and inspection.
- Ensure products are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
- Oversee inventory rotation within the warehouse.
- Perform other related duties as directed by management.
- 1–3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution center (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal, team‑building, delegating, and follow‑up skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other departments.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Competent in basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Windows‑based systems.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet established deadlines.
- Availability for extended hours, especially during peak seasons.
The employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. Noise levels are typically moderate to noisy. Physical requirements include lifting 30–60 pounds occasionally, 20–30 pounds frequently, or up to 20 pounds continuously; frequent standing, walking, reaching, and moving objects.
