Overview
This is the 1 level in a 4 level Information Technology classification series responsible for performing entry level desktop and technology support to internal Town employees.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities- Provide essential first- and second-level desktop support, resolving user issues promptly.
- Manage online ticketing systems efficiently for streamlined issue resolution.
- Oversee the employee cell phone program, including inventory maintenance and issue troubleshooting.
- Perform critical web administration duties to ensure smooth online operations.
- Maintain meticulous records to document essential work performed and ensure accuracy.
- Escalate unresolved issues promptly to higher authorities for timely resolution.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues across computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Maintain and update computer systems, including essential operating systems and software applications.
- Deliver vital technical support and assistance to employees, addressing technology-related problems effectively.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software to maintain operational efficiency.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks, such as system backups and updates, to uphold system integrity.
- Implement crucial measures and protocols to ensure robust data security and integrity.
- Collaborate closely with IT colleagues to tackle complex technical projects and challenges.
- Document essential technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations accurately.
- Conduct vital employee training sessions on technology systems and software usage.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and IT best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.
Required Certifications/Licenses
- Valid Class D Driver’s License
