How You’ll Make An ImpactAs a Sr Manager - Trade Compliance & Classification (North America), you’ll be at the forefront of our trade compliance strategy, leading regional governance, tariff classification excellence, and risk‑based compliance execution across North America. You’ll collaborate with global and regional partners to enable compliant growth, optimize duties, and strengthen competitive advantage.
In This Role, You Will- Lead, develop, and engage a high‑performing regional trade compliance and classification team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary regional contact for customs authorities and lead audits, inquiries, and regulatory engagements.
- Ensure accurate and compliant import and export tariff classifications aligned with global standards and governance.
- Drive regional risk assessments, internal controls, self‑audits, and corrective and preventive action plans.
- Partner with business, legal, and functional leaders to support manufacturing, sourcing, and trade initiatives while managing risk.
- Optimize duty savings through compliant use of tariff classification, duty programs, and free trade agreements.
- Oversee trade compliance data, systems, metrics, and training to ensure sustained regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree with approximately 10 years of experience in customs and trade compliance.
- Minimum 5 years of deep subject matter expertise in trade compliance and tariff classification.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong knowledge of tariff classification principles, duty programs, manufacturing, and procurement processes.
- Proven ability to manage audits, risk assessments, and corrective action programs.
- Experience leveraging AI‑based tools and automation for Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification.
- Technology proficiency with ERP systems, ideally SAP and SAP Global Trade Services.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Advanced degree in supply chain, international business, or related field.
- Additional language proficiency beyond English.
- Experience working directly with customs authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
The role may involve standing, walking, or operating equipment for extended periods; working in a lab or manufacturing setting with appropriate PPE provided; use of computers and digital tools in an office or hybrid environment; occasional lifting or movement of materials; and adherence to rigorous safety protocols and ergonomic standards.
