Title: Senior Benefits Administration Specialist

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Administer and oversee day‑to‑day operations of health and welfare benefit plans, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and escalation point for complex or sensitive benefits issues including eligibility, claims, payroll impacts, and policy interpretation.
  • Interpret and apply plan documents, Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), and administrative guidelines to resolve non‑routine situations.
  • Lead resolution of escalated Workday issues, including root cause analysis and coordination with HR Information Technology (HRIT) teams.
  • Act as the primary liaison for vendors and third‑party administrators to resolve complex issues and identify systemic improvements.
  • Analyze service trends and case data to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and policy clarification.
  • Support key benefits initiatives such as open enrollment, acquisitions, divestitures, and system enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), job aids, and training materials.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Benefits Administration Specialists to strengthen team capability.
  • Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), compliance standards, and internal controls.
  • Partner with leadership to improve service delivery models, workflows, and the employee experience.
Required Qualifications That Enable Your Success
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional Human Resources experience, preferably in benefits administration.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply complex plan documents and policies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain benefits concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Strong organizational, time‑management, and critical‑thinking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications That Drive You Forward
  • Experience working in a shared services or customer service environment.
  • Experience with Workday or similar Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
