Overview

Seeking a Virtualization Engineer responsible for day‑to‑day operational support of Client’s enterprise virtualization and VDI environments
, primarily VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and Omnissa Horizon
. The focus is on run‑state operations, stability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational hygiene
, executing established designs and processes rather than defining architecture or strategy.

Job Title: Horizon Virtualization Engineer

Location: Cleveland, OH

Pay Range: $65/hr on W2

What’s the Job?

Provide Day‑2 operational support for VMware Cloud Foundation, including vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, and NSX (support only).

Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity, responding to alerts and operational incidents.

Execute VMware lifecycle management (LCM) activities, including patching and upgrades under change control.

Perform VM lifecycle operations such as provisioning, right‑sizing, cleanup, and retirement.

Support Omnissa Horizon (VDI) environments, including connection servers, UAGs, desktop pools, App Volumes, and DEM.

Troubleshoot escalated virtualization and VDI issues (L3), working with EUC, storage, network, and security teams.

Participate in incident, problem, and change management using Service Now.

Maintain and update operational documentation, SOPs, and runbooks, and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.

What’s Needed?

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) administration (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN)

Omnissa Horizon / VDI operations (Connection Servers, UAG, desktop pools)

Virtualization troubleshooting and operational support (L2/L3)

VMware lifecycle and patch management under formal change control

ITSM processes and documentation (Service Now, runbooks, SOPs)
