How You'll Make an Impact As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in advancing lubricant additive technologies by generating high-quality laboratory data that supports product innovation, performance validation, and customer success. Working within Blend Test Services, you will conduct hands-on testing from sample preparation through data analysis and reporting while partnering closely with scientists, engineers, and technical teams to deliver accurate and timely results.

In this role, you will:
- Conduct laboratory testing from sample preparation through final data reporting, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality results.
- Execute testing in accordance with approved procedures and industry standards, including ASTM, CEC, ISO, and other applicable methods.
- Plan, prioritize, and coordinate test schedules to meet turnaround expectations and support product development and customer needs.
- Review and validate test data for accuracy, integrity, and completeness prior to reporting results.
- Maintain data records and upload results using Microsoft Excel, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and other internal applications.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 quality requirements through accurate documentation and adherence to laboratory processes.
- Troubleshoot laboratory equipment, testing processes, and operational issues while contributing to root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Partner with chemists, laboratory peers, and internal customers to communicate testing status, priorities, challenges, and results.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in all laboratory activities.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Ability to interpret technical procedures and accurately follow detailed testing methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Ability to work independently after training while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Adaptability and flexibility to support changing business and laboratory priorities.
Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward
- Two or more years of laboratory experience in an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience performing American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) test methods.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 quality management systems.
- Experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or other laboratory enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of 5S workplace organization and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience working with lubricant additives, oils, solvents, or related chemical materials.
