As an Analytical Chemist, you will support analytical science initiatives across our Northeast Ohio laboratories, executing high-quality testing and building foundationalexpertisein chromatographic and spectrometric techniques while collaborating with experienced scientists to solve real-world chemistry challenges.
Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing using established methods across mass spectrometry, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), and Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) laboratories.
Prepare samples,operate analytical instruments, and collect high-quality datain accordance with standard operating procedures.
Apply fundamental principles of chromatographic and spectrometric techniques with increasing independence as experience grows.
Support method execution, data review, and documentation under the guidance of senior scientists.
Assist with instrument setup, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting, escalating issues as appropriate.
Collaborate with colleagues across sites to meet analytical needs and project timelines.
Document experimental work and results accurately in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
Operate safely and responsibly while adhering to all safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistryor a closely related scientific discipline.
- Foundational understanding of analytical chemistry principles.
- Willingness and ability to work hands-on in laboratory environments across multiple analytical techniques.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to data quality.
- Ability to follow established procedures while developing scientific judgment.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Industrial experience with HPLC, GC, GPC, and/or mass spectrometry.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety practices and analytical data handling.
- Interest in supporting a broad range of chemistries, from small molecules to complex systems.
- Standing, walking, or operating equipment for extended periods.
- Working in a lab or manufacturing setting with appropriate personal protective equipment provided.
- Use of computers and digital tools in an office or hybrid environment.
- Occasional lifting or movement of materials.
- Adherence to rigorous safety protocols and ergonomic standards.
