In this entry-level field role, you will work alongside experienced crews to help maintain and operate our natural gas distribution system while developing valuable technical skills in a safety-focused environment. We are recruiting for three vacancies.

What You Will Do:

Support higher-level technicians and crew members in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the natural gas distribution system.

Learn and perform excavation, back filling, paving restoration, and other physical field activities using a variety of hand and power tools.

Operate company vehicles and light equipment, including dump trucks, vacuum trucks, and other job-related equipment as qualified.

Assist with plastic pipe fusion activities, curb box maintenance, cathodic protection work, and pipeline locating operations.

Conduct leak investigations using approved detection equipment and learn to classify and report leaks in accordance with company procedures.

Complete electronic and manual documentation related to daily work activities and maintain assigned tools and equipment.

Follow all safety procedures, standard operating practices, and required training programs while contributing to a safe and productive work environment.

Who You Are:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid Class A Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) or a full Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).Ability to obtain and maintain a permanent Class A CDL with required endorsements within the established company timelines.

Ability to pass a physical assessment and perform strenuous physical work.

Ability to successfully complete and maintain required Operator Qualifications (OQ).Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely work with tools, equipment, and machinery.

Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and following established procedures.

Acceptable attendance and work record, with willingness to work overtime and participate in emergency callouts as required.

Preferred:

Previous experience in construction, utility operations, excavation, equipment operation, or a related outdoor field environment.

Experience operating commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, or construction tools.

Basic knowledge of underground utility systems or natural gas operations.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and varying terrain.

Frequent physical activity including lifting, digging, excavating, bending, climbing, and operating tools and equipment.

Work may be performed in high-traffic urban areas, residential neighborhoods, and rural off-road locations.

Overtime, emergency response duties, and occasional extended work hours may be required.

This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 90 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
