Key responsibilities include:

- Crane Operation:
Safely operating the gantry crane to move loads, containers, or equipment
- Load Management:
Ensuring loads are secure and within weight limits
- Safety Checks:
Conducting pre-start checks and reporting any defects
- Communication:
Coordinating with teams (e.g., slingers, signallers) to ensure safe operations
- Compliance:
Following UK regulations (e.g., Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998)
Typically requires:
- Gantry crane operator training and certification (e.g., CPCS, NPORS)
- Experience operating similar cranes
- UK medical fitness certificate
