HGV Trailer Mechanic

We know that great mechanics are the backbone of any operation, that's why we're looking for an experienced HGV Trailer Mechanic to join our Manchester depot and become part of a supportive, professional team that takes pride in keeping our fleet safe, compliant and ready for the road.

Basic Salary:
Up to £55,000 dependant on experience.

Location:

Manchester.

Commutable Locations:
Oldham, Stockport, Rochdale, Altrincham, Cheadle, Hyde, Warrington, Bury, Wigan, Knutsford, Glossop.

• Monday to Friday working pattern (8:00am - 5:30pm)
• 42.5 hour working week
• 31 days holiday, including Bank Holidays

As our HGV Trailer Mechanic, you'll play a key role in ensuring our trailers are maintained to the highest standards, carrying out:

• Servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGV trailers
• Fault diagnosis and efficient repair work
• MOT‑standard inspections and defect identification
• Pre‑delivery inspections to ensure vehicles meet company standards
• Accurate completion of job cards and inspection paperwork
• Occasional breakdown attendance and field‑based repairs

We're interested in people who take pride in their work and bring a positive attitude to the team. You'll ideally have:

• Strong experience in HGV trailer maintenance and repair
• The ability to inspect and diagnose faults to MOT standards
• Excellent attention to detail
• A HGV license (desirable)
• NVQ, IRTEC or other relevant mechanical qualifications (desirable)
• Welding and fabrication experience (desirable)
