Job DescriptionWilbraham & Monson Academy seeks a thoughtful, dynamic, and student‑centered Upper School Math Teacher to join a collaborative department committed to strong fundamentals, clear reasoning, and joyful problem‑solving. This teacher will shape students’ understanding, confidence, and willingness to take intellectual risks during the formative stage of their education.
Academic Responsibilities- Teach four sections of Upper School Math, including Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra II.
- Design lessons that are clear, engaging, and appropriately differentiated.
- Provide timely and actionable feedback to students.
- Use assessments to refine instruction.
- Plan and post all lessons and assignments to the school’s Learning Management System, Canvas.
- Provide student support during designated office hours each day.
- Serve as an advisor to 4–6 students, partnering with families and colleagues to support academic and personal growth.
- Participate fully in department collaboration, including planning, communication, and shared support.
- Participate in the afternoon program for two of three seasons, involving athletic coaching and/or activity supervision.
- Engage as a visible, supportive faculty member beyond the classroom, investing in students’ lives.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Education, or a closely related field.
- Strong content knowledge and a warm, steady classroom presence.
- Commitment to helping students grow as independent thinkers and self‑advocates.
- Minimum of one year of successful classroom teaching experience.
- Experience working with students of diverse abilities, backgrounds, and needs.
- Demonstrated commitment to diverse populations and student well‑being.
- Track record of collaboration with colleagues and a collaborative mindset.
- Boarding school experience is a plus but not required.

Physical demands include dexterity for office machines such as computers, telephones, electronic calculators, copy machines, and printers. Common demands include stooping, bending, reaching, walking, and extended periods of sitting or standing.
