The Kids’ Place (TKP) has been providing Western Massachusetts families quality childcare for 45 years! We are an early childhood education center that implements the Creative Curriculum, a nationally recognized approach visible throughout all learning centers. TKP believes that play is children’s work and emphasizes learning through play in age‑appropriate, developmentally aligned classrooms. Classrooms feature clearly defined learning centers, including blocks, manipulatives, art, math, science, and dramatic play, with activity choices that promote independence.

Educators provide a nurturing, safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for children.

Role Description

The Center Director is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Wilbraham MA. This role oversees daily center operations, ensuring that classrooms follow the Creative Curriculum and that learning environments remain developmentally appropriate and aligned with TKP’s philosophy of learning through play. The Center Director supervises and supports educators, providing coaching, scheduling, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include family communication, enrollment management, compliance with licensing and health and safety regulations, and coordination of educational programs and activities.

The Director also collaborates with staff to maintain a positive, inclusive culture and continuous improvement in teaching practices.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills, including staff supervision, mentoring, and team building.
  • Strong Communication skills for interacting with children, families, staff, and external partners.
  • Knowledge of state licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and best practices in early childhood care.
  • Proven ability to manage center operations, budgets, and administrative tasks.
  • Commitment to creating inclusive, nurturing, and culturally responsive learning environments.
