Safely and efficiently operate DFA tank trailers to transport raw milk from farm or depot to plant. Navigate streets, highways, and rural access roads, following dispatch schedules and directions from supervisors. Perform quality control sampling at farms, measure milk load, minimize truck idle time, and conserve fuel. Operate safely and legally at all times.
Job Responsibilities- Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT, DFA, and safety policies.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting, connecting/disconnecting hoses, climbing ladders, and hooking/unhooking trucks and trailers.
- Verify proper documentation (load number, seal numbers, etc.) for load delivery and destination.
- Disassemble, clean, and re‑assemble trailer pumps to maintain food‑grade cleanliness.
- Represent DFA positively and professionally during interactions with customers and regulatory personnel.
- Based in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, with travel to St. Albans, VT.
- Valid Class A CDL in the state of residence.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1+ year CDL experience or FMCSA‑approved driving school graduate.
Skills and Abilities
- Minimum age 21.
- Knowledge of DOT rules and safety regulations.
- Meeting MVR, DOT, and pre‑employment background requirements.
- Clear written and verbal English communication.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to work independently.
