The CNC Operator routinely operates equipment in the Mill Shop, creates replenishment requests for raw materials and performs related material handling duties.

Reporting:
The CNC Operator reports to the Building 2 Supervisor

• Load and operate CNC router table, table saw, band saw, cutoff saw and other equipment necessary to fabricate production parts in the Mill Shop area.
• Create CNC machine nests to optimize machine run time and obtain best utilization of sheet goods for the router operation
• Prepare weekly raw material replenishment requests to assure target inventory levels are maintained
• Perform periodic maintenance and repair on Mill Shop equipment
• Maintain clean and orderly workspace
• Participate in periodic inventory counts for materials in the Mill Shop work area
• Operate material handling equipment in order to off load and put up incoming raw materials and to transfer work in progress to other shops or the stockroom
• Cross train to support other work teams in Lamination, Cut and Grind, Patching and Assembly teams
• May be called upon to perform other material handling and light building and equipment maintenance functions plant wide.

• Ability to interpret part drawings and production scheduling tools
• Able to work with computers and networks to download parts files, create machine nests, obtain production schedules and work lists

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly in production areas as required
• The ability to work in an environment that routinely entails noise, dust and odors
• Operate a fork lift on and other material handling equipment as necessary
• The ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, hear, speak and read English
