Position Summary
Fire Inspector - Plans Examiner plays a critical role in the Fire Prevention Bureau by performing inspections, enforcing code, reviewing construction plans, and conducting fire investigations. This position works under the general supervision of the Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal and collaborates with community members, developers, and business owners to ensure code compliance and reduce the risk of fire related incidents.

Salary Range$85,000-$100,000, based on education, qualifications, and experience
Reports toThe Deputy Chief Fire Marshal
Minimum Requirements- State of Missouri Certifications
- Fire Inspector 1
- Fire Investigator
- Fire Plans Examiner
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in code enforcement and plan review.
- Valid Missouri Driver's License
- Experience researching and applying current ICC and NFPA codes and standards required regardless of education and experience.
- Graduation from high school or GED required
