This position works 12-months, 40 hours per week

Working Hours:7:00AM - 3:30 PM.

Maintenance Supervisor

Starting at $23.62 per hourwith standard benefits.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs moderately complex maintenance tasks dealing with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. Also, maintains personal records of refrigerant recovery and recycling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain acceptable attendance as dictated by District/Facilities Department standard.
  • Reads and understands manufacturer's recommendations for the maintenance and repair of all District equipment and machinery.
  • Services equipment on a predetermined schedule to prevent future disruption in service and premature replacement.
  • Observes and services mechanical devices, such as, pumps, engines, motors, fans, compressors while in operation and evaluate what maintenance is needed to restore equipment to operation.
  • Repairs malfunctioning parts by dismantling, removing and restoring equipment according to specifications and manuals.
  • Seeks the advice of other maintenance workers or the supervisor in order to solve the maintenance problems unique to their experiences.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and tools for completion of jobs.
  • Inspects assigned vehicle for maintenance needs.
  • Assists fellow workers in the upkeep and repair of all district facilities.
  • All other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Assists the Lead and Supervisor in processing and completing work orders in accordance with District policies.
  • Ability to complete work assignments in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ability to perform work duties in a safe manner.
  • Ability to demonstrate safe work environment procedures and reinforce reasonable rules to reduce or eliminate job-related injuries.
  • Have ability to work various shifts and respond to emergency calls at any time.

  • Ability to drive to various sites and maintain a varied work schedule including weekends.

  • Ability to work within assigned buildings throughout the district and outside of buildings, including in inclement weather.
  • Ability to work 30 - 50 feet from ground level.
  • Ability to safely bend, twist, and lift up to 100 pounds of supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand complex instructions

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • EPA Certification in refrigerant recovery and recycling.
  • Advanced training in a vocation college or trades school or graduate of certified apprenticeship program or a verifiable certificate of achievement in a relevant field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license appropriate for vehicle and ability to legally operate a District motor vehicle.
  • Two plus years of experience in maintenance work as a certified HVAC specialist, or allied field preferred.
  • Must be able to read blue prints, plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy loads and work in both warm and cold climatic conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work could be during non-traditional hours such as evenings and weekends.
  • This position is very active and requires the physical ability to enable standing, walking, bending, climbing, sitting, talking, hearing, twisting, reaching, and lifting throughout each shift.
