We are currently seeking a full‑time Senior Accountant. This is a full time, exempt position working in our Wilkes Barre, PA office location.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to work at our Wilkes Barre, PA office location. This role will primarily focus on executing the monthly close process, while also playing a key part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting by managing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and thrives in a deadline‑driven environment.
WhatYou'll Do
- Own and execute the month‑end and year‑end close processes in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and post recurring and non‑recurring journal entries (e.g., accruals, prepaids, depreciation).
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze monthly financial results and provide variance explanations.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reports.
- Maintain and update accounting schedules (fixed assets, amortization, etc.).
- Assist with audits by providing supporting documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather information and improve close efficiency.
- Continuously identify process improvements and help implement best practices in financial operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus).
- 2–5 years of experience in accounting, with strong knowledge of the month‑end close process.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Intacct, Quick Books, SAP) and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑growth company.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Previous involvement in process automation or system implementations.
