SAI is looking for a team member in our Transportation Design Group with the desire to lead the development of Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H)
Analyses/Reports and preparation of permits across Pennsylvania.
- Work Group Leader for H&H and Permitting tasks across all offices of SAI.
- Responsible charge for development and preparation of existing, temporary, and proposed hydraulic models/analyses and H&H reports.
- Responsible charge for development and assembly and review of required project permits including, but not limited to EXX-9999 Maintenance, GPs, JPAs, and NPDES permits.
- Review calculations, exhibits, writing, etc., for quality, completeness, and accuracy.
- Sign and seal final deliverables.
- Participate in visits to project sites, project status meetings, and public meetings.
- Mentor, review, and check work of junior staff. Lead training initiatives.
- Assist in development of proposals, scopes-of-work, and staffing resource estimates.
- Monitor performance of projects, including quality, schedule, and budget, and report progress to Project and Department Managers.
- Attend professional organization meetings to build relationships and assist with business development.

- Minimum 8 years’ experience in the development of H&H analyses/reports and permits
- BS in Civil Engineering (or equivalent major) from an ABET-accredited university
- PE License
- Knowledge of H&H methods/models and permitting requirements related to transportation projects including but not limited to WMS, HEC-1/HEC-HMS, TR-55, HEC-RAS, HEC-2, and HY-8
- Knowledge of PennDOT, PA Turnpike Commission, reviewing agency (Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, US Army Corps of Engineers, Conservation District, etc.), and other client design manuals and requirements
- Knowledge of KEES (Keystone Environmental ePermitting System), On-Base, or other systems for permit submissions
- Strong work ethic and technical ability to provide guidance and oversight
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members, consultants, and clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
