Job Summary:

Coordinates and supervises the provision of respiratory care and activities within the Respiratory Care Services Department and designated clinical areas. Ensures compliance with organizational policies, directives, laws, and regulations.

Job Duties:

Supervises assigned personnel, assists with orientation and integration of new employees.

Addresses performance issues and initiates disciplinary actions when necessary.

Supports the Operations Manager with administrative responsibilities such as performance evaluations, monitoring absenteeism, ordering supplies, scheduling, recruitment, and hiring.

Communicates relevant information regarding patient care and operations to staff.

Participates in developing respiratory care policies and departmental goals.

Ensures effective and cost-efficient use of resources.

Monitors financial and statistical reports.

Assists in resolving system issues.

Builds and maintains relationships with physicians, patients, staff, and other departments.

Provides feedback and promotes evidence-based practices and research.

Assists with patient rounding and follows up on incidents.

Ensures proper documentation and follow-up.

Addresses patient and family concerns.

Identifies and participates in resolving potential error-prone processes or systems.

Manages the education, implementation, and ongoing operation of electronic communication and medical record systems.

Work is performed in a clinical environment. The role requires compliance with organizational policies and procedures. The outlined responsibilities are typical but not exhaustive, and additional competencies may be required based on departmental orientation.

Position Details: Hours: 7p-7a or 11p-7a; 40 hours/week; every other weekend and holiday required.

Minimum Qualifications: 3 years of related experience, Registered Respiratory Therapist certification, Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Required)

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years in related work (Required)

Certifications:

BLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC RRT, ACLS.
