- Technology Support Specialist

Posting: 1/20/26 - 2/26/26
Location: Marticville Middle School
Status: FT - 260 Days/yr
Reports to: Chief Information Officer
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

Summary

The Technology Support Specialist serves as the primary IT support representative for school building teachers, staff, and students. Support includes but is not limited to: installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of hardware, software, AV, voice, and mobile devices in a mixed platform, mixed vendor environment. This position requires a high degree of interpersonal skill, customer service orientation, and human relations ability.

Examples demonstrative of high quality service may include, but are not limited to, prompt responses to inquiries, professional and courteous verbal and non-verbal communication, and proactive problem solving.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides accurate and timely technical troubleshooting, repair, and problem resolution for teachers, staff and students; responds to and manage incidents and tasks generated through support requests, calls, and emails; ensures all activities are logged accurately and up-to-date on status
  • Delivers, configures, repairs, and maintains, IT equipment and software including, but not limited to, computers, mobile devices, telephony, AV/presentation equipment, and printers
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, documents, tests, and modifies computer operating systems, hardware and software programs;
    Prepares, tests, and implements client software images, packages, and scripts for automated deployment and updates
  • Adheres to district IT practices and standards, including cyber security procedures and requirements
  • Ensures system configurations, operations, inventory, and technology procedures are properly documented and updated;
    Maintains accurate hardware, software, and licensing inventories
  • Develops and maintains technology training procedures and materials, FAQs, and help articles for staff, students, and the Technology Team.
  • Provides routine operational support, maintenance, and testing of IT equipment and software
  • Fosters customer relationships through ongoing issue status updates and other communications; collaborates with the IT Team to proactively support effective and secure software systems for students, teachers, and staff
  • Remains current in the field of technology by participating in technology workshops, seminars, certification programs, and other professional learning opportunities
  • Performs other duties and tasks assigned by the Chief Information Officer, Assistant Technology Director, Building Principal, or Leadership Team
  • Qualifications
    • Associate degree or higher in a technical related field, or 2 years IT experience in a mixed platform environment
    • Strong working knowledge of Chrome

      OS, Mac, Windows, and a wide variety of software applications
    • Familiarly with Python, HTML/CSS, Java script, and/or other programming/scripting languages preferred
    • Ability to manage time effectively, handle multiple projects concurrently, and to work independently and as a member of a team
    • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and access to personal transportation required
    • Pre-employment clearances and physical examination as designated by the PA School Code
    General Skills and Capabilities
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with all members of the district community (written and verbal). Must be able to present information effectively to small and large groups.
    • Ability to analyze, interpret, and solve detailed and highly technical problems across a range of hardware and software systems. Must be able to learn and adapt to changes in the work environment, accept constructive feedback, and work actively to resolve conflicts.
    • Able to handle multiple priorities, make sound judgments, and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Requires flexibility and capability to manage, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Able to provide outstanding customer service to staff, and faculty.
