Overview

Wilkes University invites applicants for an IT Support Specialist in the Information Technology Services Department. This position supports the campus community by providing technology support and troubleshooting assistance to faculty, staff, administration, and students through phone, email, and face‑to‑face interactions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide front‑line technical support on technology‑related issues.
  • Enter, document, and resolve Help Desk tickets.
  • Participate in computer deployments and support activities.
  • Assist and train student Help Desk workers.
  • Communicate technology‑related updates and outages to the campus community.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues on Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Collaborate within a team‑based IT environment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a technology‑related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a technology support environment, preferably in higher education.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience supporting Windows and Mac operating systems, hardware peripherals, and wired and wireless network connectivity preferred.
Compensation

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
