McCarthy Tire Service is seeking a motivated and customer-focused
IT Help Desk Technician
to join our Information Technology team. The ideal candidate will provide first-line technical support to teammates across multiple locations, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and help ensure the reliability and security of company technology systems. This role is an excellent opportunity for a technology professional who enjoys problem-solving, delivering exceptional customer service, and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests from teammates.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, printer, and mobile device issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, peripherals, and software applications.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
- Respond to and track service tickets, ensuring timely resolution and communication with teammates.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including equipment setup and account provisioning.
- Support remote teammates through phone, email, and remote access tools.
- Document issues, solutions, and procedures in the IT knowledge base.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Assist with IT projects, technology upgrades, and system deployments.
- Follow company cybersecurity policies and best practices.
Required:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in a Help Desk, Desktop Support, or IT Support role.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users in a clear and professional manner.
- Experience supporting
AS400 (IBM i)environments. - Experience with
Microsoft Office 365 Suite
and related collaboration tools. - Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft Intune, or endpoint management tools.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and wireless connectivity.
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or related credentials.
- Experience supporting teammates across multiple locations.
