Engineers are hired as Project Managers to manage Projects from Design and Feasibility through to Full Scale Production. Projects range in size from $50K -> $2MM in annual sales.
Key Responsibilities:- Customer Design Feasibility review and Design for Manufacturing modifications to meet aesthetic & durability specifications
- Process flow design
- Vendor Selection and Negotiations for Components
- Product Costing and Baseline Management throughout project based on changes
- Project Timeline Management to meet Customer Requirements for Preproduction Builds, Part Approval, Qualification and Production Ramp
- Management of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) including Product Testing and Qualification Runs
- Daily collaboration with US and China based colleagues and Customers to maintain alignment and to support program completion
Required:
- 2 years minimum of experience as a mechanical/process/quality/manufacturing engineer working for an Automotive Company or a Company supplying Product to Automotive Industry
- B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing)
- Working knowledge of ProE / Auto Cad software
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects to their timely conclusion
- Annual travel to LaFrance’s production facilities in China
- US citizenship or PERM status
