Responsibilities
  • Ensure all employees understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies. Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions in the facility in accordance with Company standards and state & federal laws. Ensure employees understand their OSHA rights. Conduct safety trainings as required. Schedule employees to attend all safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions. Investigate accidents and near misses, completing reports and taking action to eliminate root causes.
  • Oversee all operational aspects of the areas on the assigned shift. Supervise hourly personnel and provide accountability for area results and activities.
  • Ensure continuity between shifts on area practices. Set area practices and goals for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and direct area resources toward problems to provide maximum area efficiency.
  • Facilitate improvement projects and provide process and methods control.
  • Coordinate area training for both hourly and salaried personnel. Manage area staffing by approving vacations, PTO, shift modifications, etc.
  • Ensure area is properly cleaned and maintained. Complete 5-S paperwork and post as required.
  • Manage equipment and hourly personnel to maintain a steady flow of quality products in a safe and clean environment.
  • Instruct the workforce to maintain high quality production while following all process procedures as described in the process control manual.
  • Enforce priorities and procedures as directed by the Plant Manager. Monitor operations to ensure equipment is in proper working condition and work areas are clean and safe.
  • Ensure employees understand and abide by all company safety regulations and policies, including attending safety meetings and reporting incidents with appropriate follow-up.
  • Complete daily production and downtime reports, as well as daily attendance and absentee reports. Distribute overtime equitably within each department. Enforce all collective bargaining regulations per procedures.
  • Identify and address problems requiring involvement of service departments. Actively participate in the Quality Improvement Process and the Victaulic Product Delivery System (VPDS) through scheduled employee involvement and training meetings.
Qualifications
  • High School Graduate (College Preferred)
  • Five years’ experience in Foundry/Manufacturing operations
  • Willing to work extended hours, weekends, or other shifts if required
  • Professional appearance and good performance/attendance records
  • Physically and mentally capable of handling exerting and/or stressful situations
  • Able to conduct and participate in meetings
