Position Purpose
The Bariatric Surgery Coordinator will coordinate and supervise all aspects of the Bariatric Program, including patient education, patient support group meetings, staff education, and coordination of patients' surgery with hospital and physician office. This position reports directly to the Clinical Director of Bariatric.
EducationMust be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. Preference will be given to candidates who have certification in Bariatric Surgery offered by the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons or who have prior experience working with surgical and bariatric patients.
Experience & Specialized SkillsDesirable characteristics include at least five (5) years of experience as a nurse, preferably in the area of bariatric nursing.
Licenses / CertificatesMust possess a current PA license as a Registered Nurse. Must obtain and maintain a current certification in BLS prior to the end of the orientation period. The Bariatric Surgery Coordinator will be an active Affiliate Member of ASBS.
