POSITION PURPOSE
The Bariatric Surgery Coordinator will coordinate and supervise all aspects of the Bariatric Program, including but not limited to: patient education, patient support group meetings, staff education, and coordination of patients' surgery with hospital and physician office. This position reports directly to the Clinical Director of Bariatric.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program; preferred to have certification in Bariatric Surgery as offered by the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons desirable or prior experience working with surgical and bariatric patients.
- Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes: Desirable characteristics include at least five (5) years of experience as a nurse, preferably in the area of application.
- Licenses/Certificates: Must possess current PA license as a Registered Nurse. Must obtain and maintain a current certification in BLS and must be complete prior to end of orientation period. The Bariatric Surgery Coordinator will be an active Affiliate Member of ASBS.
