• Assesses outpatient needs and plans nursing activities to meet those needs while rotating between Pre‑Op/PACU and Post‑Op. This is a Union, per diem role scheduled as needed.
• Receives status report on patient, identifies the patient, performs initial nursing assessment and scoring, and undertakes ongoing assessment, reporting and recording patient condition changes.
• Monitors vital signs, observes monitoring devices, and reports changes; reviews postoperative orders, institutes appropriate treatments, administers medications according to physician orders.
• Performs discharge scoring and prepares the patient for discharge in accordance with discharge criteria; provides patient education to patient and family members and documents in the nursing record.
• Assists the patient with nourishment; contacts patient and significant other postoperatively to evaluate progress and provide follow‑up referral as necessary.
• Evaluates the quality of patient care, participates in quality improvement activities, communicates with family to allay concerns, participates in meetings and committee membership, and pursues continuing education.
• Orders supplies when needed and maintains compliance with safety and preventive maintenance activities for all medical and technical equipment to minimize failures and unsafe conditions; assists with orientation and in‑service programs and the supervision of students.

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program‑Nursing (Required).
• Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) –  of Pennsylvania.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
• Preferred experience:
  
  telemetry and/or PCU, ICU.
• Skills:
  
  Clinical, Communication, Computer Literacy, Interpersonal Communication, Preceptor Skills, Teamwork.
