Responsibilities- Lead a team of staff with responsibility for all operational functions of the team.
- Develop and initiate improvements in the organization and delivery of high quality, cost-effective services.
- Ensure access to and the flow of patients and their treatments.
- Oversee all aspects of the area, including operations, quality, and statistical analysis.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor customer satisfaction, turnaround time and other measurable performance parameters that represent indicators of departmental performance improvement.
- Perform duties of a staff nurse within area of expertise.
- Work in partnership with clerical and nursing staff, and clinic support for the benefit of the patient.
- Effectively manage people, resources and time in partnership with other team leaders to achieve results; share resources as appropriate.
- Proactively respond to and support change; anticipate problems and effectively adjust plans.
- Balance short-term and long-term objectives.
- Identify and implement ways to reduce costs and streamline efforts within and between clinic areas while maintaining quality standards.
- Adjust to changing work needs and help others respond quickly; help remove barriers to team effectiveness.
- Structure work assignments to the appropriate level to most effectively use resources; adjust as needed.
- Coordinate and manage the resources within the treatment room to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Act as mentor, teacher and coach to others, including new employees, while maintaining their orientation folders and oversight; actively use the team performance management process.
- Motivate others to seek and participate in developmental opportunities.
- Foster an environment of continuous learning; take risks; help others understand that mistakes are an opportunity for learning; contribute to the professional growth of employees.
- Ensure all required performance improvement and quality control documentation is completed for assigned sections.
- Have knowledge of and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting requirements.
- Identify QC deficiencies, initiate and monitor corrective actions.
- Participate in the interview and selection process for team members.
- Monitor staffing, vacation scheduling, cross-training activities.
- Coordinate and conduct team orientation with all new team members.
- Coordinate performance evaluation process for all team members.
- Gather and evaluate input regarding employee discipline prior to implementation to ensure fairness and standardization throughout the department.
- Graduate from Specialty Training Program (required).
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience (required).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Previous experience as an RN with therapeutic and donor apheresis procedures is preferred.
- Basic Life Support Certification – default issuing body.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) – RN State of Pennsylvania.
