Role Overview

An Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care in a clinical setting, addressing physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs throughout hospitalization.

• Contribute data to assessments and evaluations of patient responses to interventions.
• Reinforce patient and family education, discharge planning, and support during hospitalization.
• Administer treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies following policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, staff, and interdisciplinary teams to address patient needs.
• Participate in unit-based decision-making and provide input for team performance appraisals.
• Precept and mentor new staff and students in a professional manner.
• Promote safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care to maximize satisfaction and outcomes.

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, coordinate patient care, and collaborate effectively with team members.

The role involves working primarily in private and semi-private rooms, with a patient population that includes acute and chronic medical conditions, especially surgical orthopedic cases. The position requires working evening, night, and weekend shifts, with opportunities for mentorship, participation in evidence-based practice, and contribution to a high-reliability organization committed to excellence, safety, and community care.
