Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Unit

Role Overview:

Provides direct patient care in an inpatient setting, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, addresses patients’ physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs, and educates patients and families throughout care. Responsible for executing treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policies, and revises care plans based on patient responses. Engages in unit-based decision‑making, promotes safety, and participates in quality improvement activities.

Demonstrates compassionate care, coordinates patient interactions, and ensures excellent patient and family experiences.

Completes assessments, formulates and coordinates care plans, and acts proactively to resolve patient needs. Troubleshoots equipment issues, participates in evidence‑based practice discussions, and contributes to safety and quality initiatives. Works typically in a clinical environment, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.

Requires graduation from a nursing specialty training program; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Must meet qualification standards to care for patients in the assigned unit. Strong communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, and clinical skills are essential. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, prioritize effectively, and demonstrate compassion and professionalism.
