LPN – Practical Nurse – Acute Care Cardiovascular Stroke Unit

Role: Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Responsibilities include: providing direct patient care, administering treatments, medications, and diagnostics, evaluating nursing interventions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to meet patient needs. They contribute data to assessments, support discharge planning, reinforce patient and family education, and participate in evidence-based practice decisions. Mentoring new staff and students is also part of the role, ensuring quality care and safety.

Qualifications and Skills: Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing, with the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Demonstrates compassionate, patient-centered interactions, promotes safety, and coordinates care effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Duties: promote adaptive responses, coordinate staff interactions, support performance appraisals, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Work typically involves a clinical environment with responsibilities during shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
