Registered Nurse – Patient Flow Coordinator

Role Overview

Coordinates patient flow and throughput in the department, collaborating with team members, staff, and providers to ensure efficient operations and quality care. Serves as a role model in professional practice, fostering effective communication and resource utilization.

• Monitors patient volumes, manages placement based on acuity, and communicates issues to leadership.
• Coordinates bed availability and collaborates with ancillary departments to address delays.
• Utilizes tele-tracking to identify available beds and facilitates patient transfers.
• Ensures timely discharge processes and room turnover, providing comprehensive status reports to team members.
• Addresses barriers to expedite patient care and resource allocation, including transportation coordination.
• Serves as a communication link between staff and leadership to optimize patient flow.

Graduate of a nursing specialty training program;
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential. Work is performed in a clinical environment in compliance with organizational policies.

Requires working evening/night shifts, including every other weekend and holidays. Prioritizes patient safety, quality, and collaborative teamwork.
