LPN – Practical Nurse – Acute Care Orthopedic Telemetry Unit

An Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care in a clinical setting, addressing physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families. They contribute to assessments, reinforce education, and participate in discharge planning throughout hospitalization.

• Deliver treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies per policies.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions based on patient responses.
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and ancillary staff to meet patient needs.
• Participate in unit-based decision-making and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Mentor and precept new staff and students in a professional manner.
• Coordinate patient care to promote safety, satisfaction, and adaptive responses.

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical assessment skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse patient populations.

The role involves working in a primarily private room environment, managing a broad range of acute and chronic conditions, with a focus on surgical orthopedic patients. The nurse will engage in continuous quality improvement and patient advocacy.
