Emergency Services Manager

Join the Tŝilhqot’in National Government as an Emergency Services Manager in Williams Lake, BC. We are seeking a leader in emergency preparedness and disaster management for our six communities.

The role entails full-time, permanent responsibilities focusing on emergency preparedness programs, disaster relief, and community engagement. You'll lead a team of Emergency Services Coordinators while working on critical emergency operations. This position requires a strategic approach to preventing and responding to potential disasters while coordinating community training and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage emergency preparedness and disaster relief programs

• Oversee emergency service activities and advise leadership during crises

• Lead and mentor a team of Emergency Services Coordinators

• Prepare annual updates and deliver presentations for the Tŝilhqot’in communities

• Coordinate significant emergency situations and provide planning consulting

Requirements:

• Certificate or degree in Emergency Preparedness or 5 years’ experience

• Minimum 5 years’ job-related experience with 3 years in a supervisory role

• Strong skills in prevention, preparedness, and response

• Proven ability in communications and team management

• Must hold Incident Command System I-100 certification
