This professional role demands a self-motivated individual to handle budgeting, implement forest management strategies, and maintain compliance with environmental legislation. You will lead a small team, supervise contractors, and engage with stakeholders to protect biodiversity and support community interests. Creative problem-solving and effective communication are key to overseeing a variety of tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage silviculture prescriptions and oversee related operations
• Ensure compliance with legal and UBC policy standards
• Supervise planning and implementation of forestry activities
• Maintain forest history records and management documents
• Develop and manage an annual budget exceeding $2 million
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Minimum three years related experience
• Knowledge of BC forestry practices and legislation
• Registration as a Professional Forester in BC preferred
• Valid Class V Driver's License and First Aid certification
