Administrative Specialist
Administrative Specialist provides principal secretarial support to the Navy Medical Logistics Command, Civil Engineer Equipment Support section. The role maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the supervisor and staff, works fairly independently with a minimum of supervision and performs various clerical and secretarial duties requiring knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the office.
Duties/Responsibilities- Provides administrative support to CEES/CESE Director and Staff with office management responsibilities overseeing Hazmat requests and maintaining up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Ensures all materials are stored according to safety protocols, minimizing risk to personnel and the organization.
- Works independently on projects requiring research and preparation of briefing charts and other presentation materials.
- Accurately tracks equipment location.
- Uses DMLSS and HIMS systems to track inventory records, conduct periodic checks of product labels and identifications.
- Exhibits reasoning and active listening skills.
- Prioritizes multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Maintains a well-organized workspace.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
- Follows and understands Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.
- Communicates work processes clearly with leadership and peers.
- Detail oriented and capable of working independently and as a team member.
- Physically capable of walking, standing, reaching, bending, moving items, lifting and carrying weight over 45 pounds; work is performed on hard surfaces.
- Possesses a current valid driver's license.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
