DMV Customer Service Technician; Part-time​/wage - Williamsburg

Job Overview

Virginia’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a Customer Service Technician to work part‑time at the Williamsburg Customer Service Center. The role requires strong customer service and problem‑solving skills and offers opportunities for career growth.

• Handle various customer transactions, including communicating policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Issue IDs, process applications, and administer vision, driver, and vehicle road tests.
• Process vehicle registrations and titling, collect taxes, and provide other DMV services.

• Experience in customer service.
• Proficiency with personal computers, computer information systems, and databases.
• Basic math and accounting skills, including reconciliations.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex statutes such as the Motor Vehicle Code and related regulations.
• Analytical skills to read records and documents for logical and legal conclusions.
• Ability to work well under pressure during peak workload periods and collaborate within a team.
• Excellent oral and written communication with diverse customers and staff.
• Valid experience with the Privacy Protection Act and DMV CSC operations preferred.
• Must be able to work Monday–Saturday with varied hours.
