Summary:

** William & Mary’s Department of Theatre & Performance invites applications for a full-time Production Manager. Under the general direction of the Department Chair, the Production Manager oversees theatre and dance productions, including general operations, production budget management, establishing deadlines and monitoring production timelines, resolving technical and logistical issues, securing performance rights, and facilitating guest artist engagements. The Production Manager coordinates rehearsal and performance space for the program, including collaboration with the Office of the Arts regarding performance facility use, and serves as the primary liaison for scheduling matters related to productions and facilities.

* Required Qualifications:

*** Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
* Prior experience as a theatrical Production Manager.
* Considerable knowledge of educational theatre, production management, and technical theatre.
* Working knowledge of safety standards, maintenance, and upgrade of theater equipment
* Demonstrated skills in budgeting, organization, attention-to-detail, analyzing situations and resolving conflicts.
* Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects and protocols of stage productions and schedules, coordinate with various teams, coordinate rehearsals, and other responsibilities involved in the day-to-day running of theatre and dance productions and post-show.
* Experience in a professional stage and production management environment.
* Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct the work of others to ensure the smooth running of a production.
* Demonstrated ability to perform duties and responsibilities under strict time constraints and to work a highly flexible work schedule to accommodate department production schedule.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students, visitors, volunteers and other internal and external stakeholders.

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Master’s degree in Fine Arts from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.
* Experience with state-of-the art production equipment and technology (lighting, sound, construction).
* Experience with Auto Cad and Vectorworks.
* Experience mentoring students in an academic theatre environment

*** This is a continuing E&G funded position and not term-limited.

** Coordinate with production team to determine production purchase needs; procure goods and services for productions and guest performances; facilitate vendor solicitation, registration, communication, and resolution.
