Location:
Williamsburg, Virginia
Hiring Range: $16.20 - $21.08 /hour. Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Environmental Aide Team Lead ensures proper cleaning and housekeeping that meets state, facility and regulatory requirements, as well as RHS Infection Control standards and Environmental Services policies and procedures. The role maintains a neat, clean, and safe work environment and ensures adequate supplies for cleaning, assists team members with moving equipment, cleaning and beds, and performs all other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Ensure all assignments have adequate coverage each shift and coordinate the delivery of communication devices, supplies and equipment.
- In the absence of a supervisor, carry the department phone, answer all calls and dispatch assignments promptly and effectively.
- Train all new staff members on proper cleaning for each area of the hospital.
- Provide job‑specific recertification training annually and as needed.
- Restock supplies and clean carts daily to maintain a smooth flow of operations.
- Maintain paper goods, soaps, chemicals and reusable goods as applicable, ensuring areas are stocked.
- Demonstrate the ability to terminally clean and keep assigned areas clean in accordance with RHS policies.
- Clean all designated areas—including patient rooms, bathrooms, corridors, public areas, elevators, and ancillary areas such as nurses’ stations, laboratories, lounges, and locker rooms—by sweeping, washing, mopping, dusting, disinfecting and sanitizing.
- Maintain a safe patient care environment by consistently complying with RHS, DNV, state and regulatory standards.
- Follow guidelines for proper body mechanics, hazardous materials handling and universal precautions to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Perform all cleaning duties in a timely, safe and thorough manner in compliance with Infection Control Standards, including dusting, cleaning, sanitizing, trash removal, and other services as needed.
- Ensure areas are cleaned according to schedule and departmental policies, and monitor continuously to maintain the highest quality of order and cleanliness.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (Preferred).
- Experience: 1 year of prior housekeeping experience in a healthcare acute setting with knowledge of regulations, policies, procedures and accreditation standards.

AHA Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) (Preferred).
