Colonial Behavioral Health provides opportunities for recovery and improved quality of life to individuals and their families affected by mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities. We proudly serve the communities of James City County, the City of Poquoson, the City of Williamsburg, and York County.

We are currently seeking a Clinician III (LE) to join our Adult Outpatient Program. This position provides clinical services to adults experiencing serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders and helps individuals access the services, supports, and resources needed to address their behavioral health and basic needs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling and psychotherapy to individuals and families.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, evaluations, and diagnostic services.
  • Develop recovery-oriented, individualized service plans in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Monitor individuals' progress, service delivery, physical and mental stability, and satisfaction with services.
  • Coordinate and connect individuals with appropriate community resources, services, and supports.
  • Provide services that promote recovery, independence, stability, and improved quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Evening and weekend hours may occasionally be required based on program and client needs.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Proficiency in individual, family, and group counseling techniques.
  • Knowledge of family systemsandmotivational interviewing.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive, recovery-oriented treatment and service plans.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of clinical assessments, therapeutic interventions, and outcome measures relevant to the population served.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals, families, treatment teams, and community providers.
  • At least one year of work experience with individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Master's Degree in a human services field required
  • Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social Work required
