Colonial Behavioral Health Clinician I
Colonial Behavioral Health (CBH) is dedicated to providing opportunities for recovery and improving quality of life for individuals and families affected by mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities. CBH proudly serves the communities of James City County, the City of Poquoson, the City of Williamsburg, and York County.
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and responsive Clinician I to join our Mobile Crisis team. This is an excellent opportunity for a behavioral health professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is committed to helping individuals and families navigate behavioral health crises and connect with the appropriate supports.
Job Duties- Provide timely behavioral health assessments and crisis interventions for individuals experiencing acute mental health and/or substance use concerns.
- Assess and evaluate individuals for mental illness, substance use disorders, developmental disabilities, and other behavioral health needs.
- Conduct risk assessments, including evaluation of danger to self or others, inability to care for oneself, and imminent risk.
- Provide crisis stabilization services in the Crisis Care Center, individuals' homes, and other community settings through mobile crisis response.
- Deliver short-term crisis counseling and clinically appropriate interventions to individuals and families.
- Assist individuals with crisis resolution, safety planning, problem-solving, and connection to community resources
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (EEO)- Knowledge and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate, and support individuals experiencing mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders.
- Ability to assess behavioral health risk, including risk of harm to self or others and inability to care for oneself due to mental illness.
- Ability to provide clinically appropriate responses to individuals experiencing acute behavioral health crises.
- At least one year of clinical experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Bachelor's Degree in a human services field required.
- Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) required.
