IMCU Cardiac & Stroke RN — Day Shift Leader

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process
• Perform assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation
• Apply professional nursing standards involving ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health
• Use clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for the Intermediate Care/Acute Cardiac-Stroke Unit
• Care for patients with heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, pacemakers, defibrillators, post-coronary interventions, post-ablation care, myocardial infarctions, and acute stroke
• Manage pre- and post-catheterization patients
• Participate in general nursing orientation and specialty clinical track residency
• Work day shift hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM with rotating weekend schedule

• Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
• BLS within 90 days of hire
• Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
• NIH within 1 year of hire
• Acute care nursing experience preferred
• Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred
• New Grad RNs welcome
• RN with less than 12 months experience or transitioning to a new practice area eligible for automatic enrollment in the 6-month transition-to-practice program

Demonstrates expertise in providing nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, and implementation of evidence-based practices, particularly in the Intermediate Care/Acute Cardiac-Stroke Unit. Proficient in managing patients with cardiac conditions and stroke, while adhering to professional nursing standards and ethical practices.
